HowTo: Configure Microsoft Source Analysis

Lots of folks are complaining about Microsoft's recently released Source Analysis tool, and how they disagree with certain rules, and how it is not configurable. Well, it is configurable, but they put the dialog in a strange place.

You start by right clicking on your project file, then click on Source Analysis Settings.

Source Analysis Settings Context Menu

You will then be presented with a dialog where you can check or uncheck the various rules as you see fit.

Is that per project or overall settings? If it's per project does it carry through source control and can we set defaults?

Is it just me, or does the MSA tool lack support for Asp.Net applications? My attempts to use the source analysis will just produce a message saying "No files to analyze" and trying to set the settings will pop up a dialog "Unable to get the path to the project."
